Self-awareness
08:26What type of team player am I?
Within our Creativity and Concept Development module, we filled out a questionnaire which would ask questions about the type of person you are within a team.
By selecting either "Rarely", "Sometimes", "Frequently" and "Always" the questionnaire would then determine what role I play within a team.
Once I had completed the questions within the questionnaire the feedback I was given are as follows:
Evaluator- 5
Ideas Person- 7
Leader- 6
Compromiser- 5
Summariser- 11
Recorder- 7
Encourager- 11
The main two roles which I play according to the questionnaire are Summariser and Encourager.
After reading the descriptions of the two roles which I play in the team according to the questionnaire I agree that this is the type of person I am within a team. I do find myself summarising what we have discussed along with coming to conclusions, as I feel that if this is not done it can become quite messy and people forget what has been said. Furthermore when people feel unmotivated or challenged I try to bring humour and become enthusiastic to keep the team spirit positive, as I do not like working in an environment when everyone is unmotivated.
I enjoyed filling out the questionnaire as it made me self aware of the type of roles I play within a team without realising, whilst how important them roles can be to help the team work to their best ability. Meanwhile, I do find myself a leader occasionally, however this usually determines the type of people I am working with if there needs to be a leader to almost motivate or organise the group I usually do this if necessary.
