BNI Business Networking...

04:52

My dad mentioned that I should attend a BNI Business Meeting with him as it would help me understand business networking once I leave University.

It sounded like a great idea, I love networking, meeting new people and pitching its one of my confident skills. With getting A* at Drama in my school years I feel as though this has influenced my confidence when meeting new people, in relation to business.

I met everyone on the business network and they all seemed extremely professional and friendly.

Furthermore, we all sat around a table and all members of the team stood up individually explaining who they were, about their business/the business they worked for and a potential client they are interested in. As the meeting went on I learnt that it was all the team members role to try and get in contact with the "potential clients" and recommending them to people who need their service.

BNI- word of mouth marketing for one another, they hold team meetings regularly to see team members progress and make sure everyone is succeeding with the service.

Personally I thought it was a fantastic way of getting your business out there locally, and spreading the good work across. Although, it does narrow down to "what you put in, is what you get out" - therefore you must help others on the team to get work, because they are more than likely to get you work back.

It relies on recommendations and it is an international company!

The director of BNI asked me to stand up and express myself- I did to almost everyone on the team and they were pleased with my confidence. A media creative also passed me over his card when we all had breakfast- which meant I must have done well in my pitch for him to take interest in me.

It helped me understand business and how important networking really is! linkedin
