Production Project..

04:01

Well I have had deadlines left, right and centre the last few weeks- finally time to breathe and also make a blog post about what I have been doing.

Production Project- completed!! It had been a journey, but we all came very far and it was worth the long hours and pressure. My main roles were the Producer and Director, although I was involved in the cinematography and the edit. Working alongside; Natalie Donnelly and Thomas Salzano.

In order to be able to watch the project you will need to download a QR Code scanner (free from your app store) - you will need a main screen, ideally computer desktop/laptop/tablet and your smart phone will be used for the second screen.

The overal aim of the documentary was to be creative and challenge stereotypical documentaries which are talking heads (can become quite boring to watch)- we began with the sound of the character telling her story and it was all about planning, being imaginative and researching ideas to illustrate the narrative.

The idea of using second screen was to keep viewers engaged because after doing research The Guardian Online stated.
"eDigitalResearch / IMRG (October 2012)
This was a survey of 2,000 people in the UK conducted in early July 2012. It found that 80% of smartphone owners, 81% of tablet owners and 73% of laptop owners use their devices in front of the TV."      View the full article here:
Meanwhile, the main objective of using second screen was to show the audience images of Joy when she was younger. Second screen gives the documentary personal touches that joy would not want a shared audience (first screen) to watch. It also creates a relationship with the viewer, as though they feel a connection with Joy.
